Our mission

Dark Knight Training exists to translate the best available scientific evidence on training, nutrition and recovery into practical, honest content that a serious person can actually use. The site is written in the editorial voice of an anonymous night vigilante — a stylistic device chosen to reinforce discipline, preparation and consistency. The persona is atmosphere; the information itself follows factual standards. When the science and the story disagree, the science wins and the paragraph gets rewritten.

How we choose topics

Topics come from three places: questions readers send through our contact form, patterns we see in search demand and community discussions, and gaps we notice in existing coverage — subjects where the popular narrative has drifted away from what the evidence actually shows. We prioritize articles that are useful for months or years, not viral cycles.

How we research and write

Every article about training adaptations, nutrition, supplementation, recovery or health outcomes is grounded in peer-reviewed literature, meta-analyses and mainstream guidelines. Primary sources we lean on include PubMed-indexed journals, position stands from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), and public-health guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO) and national health authorities.

When we cite a specific claim — an effect size, a dose, a recommendation — the intent is to reflect current consensus rather than a single outlier study. Where the literature is genuinely mixed, we say so. Where a topic is dominated by opinion and low-quality evidence, we label the section as editorial commentary instead of dressing it up as science.

Review before publishing

Each draft passes through an accuracy check before it goes live: claims are cross-referenced against the sources they came from, doses and numbers are verified, and any recommendation with a safety component is reviewed for common-sense caveats. Articles are dated, and when the evidence base shifts materially — new meta-analysis, updated guideline, revised safety data — the article is updated and the date is refreshed.

Sources and citations

Where a claim rests on a specific study or guideline, we reference it in-line. We deliberately separate three registers: (1) scientific consensus, (2) reasonable inference from the available evidence, and (3) editorial opinion or personal preference. Readers should always be able to tell which one they're reading.

Editorial independence

Dark Knight Training participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. Affiliate revenue helps sustain the site, but it never dictates what we recommend. Products in our "Recommended Arsenal" sections are chosen on evidence, cost-benefit and long-term reputation — the same criteria the author uses for their own equipment. If a product does not meet that bar, it does not appear here, regardless of the commission attached. For the full disclosure, see our affiliate disclosure.

We do not accept payment to publish, review or rank products, and we do not run undisclosed sponsored content.

Limits — what this site is not

Dark Knight Training publishes informational and educational content. It is not medical advice, not a substitute for a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or certified fitness professional, and not a diagnostic or treatment resource. Anyone with an existing medical condition, injury, pregnancy, or medication regimen — or anyone new to intense training — should consult a qualified professional before applying anything they read here. A medical disclaimer appears at the bottom of every article as a reminder.

Corrections and feedback

If you spot a factual error, an outdated study, or a claim that no longer reflects current evidence, tell us. We take corrections seriously and publish them promptly. Reach the editorial team through our contact page or at contact@darkknighttraining.com. Substantive corrections are noted on the affected article along with the updated date.

The bottom line

The night vigilante voice is the wrapping. Evidence, honesty and usefulness are the product. That contract is the reason this site exists — and the reason we keep writing.
